DESCRIPTION

This scoping review highlights significant gaps in the investigation of sociodemographic differences in geriatric orthopedic surgery research. Future studies should leverage prospective study designs to identify interventions that improve outcomes for vulnerable patients as well as qualitative research that can provide insight into the patient and caregiver experience. Expanding these efforts to under-stand and intervene on patient-centered outcomes is essential to drive meaningful progress toward ger-iatric orthopedic surgery, supporting all patients to age with health, dignity, and quality of life.
