Frailty is increasingly recognized as a powerful predictor of health outcomes across a wide range of medical specialties, yet its integration into clinical practice remains limited. Drawn from the 2015 AGS/NIA conference Research Agenda for Frailty in Older Adults: Towards a Better Understanding of Physiology and Etiology, this article examines the current state of frailty research. It highlights challenges related to definition, measurement, and implementation, and outlines key research priorities for advancing frailty assessment and care within specialty medicine.
