The AGS is excited to announce a new free member tool available on GeriatricsCareOnline, The AGS Quick Guide to Diabetes Management in Older Adults. Adapted from Finding the Sweet Spot: an Interactive Workshop on Diabetes Management in Older Adults (Triantafylidis et. al., doi:10.15766/mep_2374-8265.10845), this guide provides a five-step framework for diabetes management in older adults.

It was developed to help clinicians develop individualized goals for diabetes treatment, list safety and efficacy characteristics of antihyperglycemic agents, and implement geriatric prescribing and deprescribing principles for antihyperglycemic agents. The guide’s framework builds off the AGS approach to multimorbidity and also includes a case example. This Quick Guide is offered for free to AGS members as a digital tool and is also available in a printer-friendly format.
