The Assisted Living Nursing Syllabus (ALNS) is a comprehensive text developed by the American Geriatrics Society. The ALNS covers topics in management and leadership, as well as clinical care of patients. The Clinical chapters in ALNS are based on the Geriatrics Review Syllabus: A Core Curriculum in Geriatric Medicine, 11th Edition, and adapted for clinical staff in the Assisted Living setting.
The ALNS comprises 50 chapters and is available in digital format. ALNS is divided into six sections: Assisted Living Setting, Management and Leadership, Approach to the Patient and Philosophies of Care, Syndromes, Psychological Health, and Diseases and Disorders. Up-to-date and practical references and webpages are also made available for readers to pursue topics in greater depth.
