AGS Diabetes Guidelines Newly Updated

The American Geriatrics Society (AGS) has just released newly revised and updated guidelines for the treatment of diabetes, Improving the Care of Older Adults with Diabetes Mellitus: 2013 Update. The 2013 guidelines incorporate new high-quality evidence that has become available since the 2003 AGS/California Health Care Foundation diabetes guidelines were published.  The new guidelines emphasize the importance of individualizing and prioritizing treatment, with attention to quality of life and personal and caregiver choices related to health care.
