AGS has just released the Geriatrics Virtual Patient Case Modules for Surgical and Related Medical Sub-Specialties (VPCs). The Geriatrics VPCs include 9 cases focused on the geriatrics aspects of surgical and related medical subspecialty care of older adults, developed to help diplomates gain a better understanding of the common challenges that can arise in this population. The cases use multimedia and realistically presented clinical tasks to pose key challenges in caring for older patients, providing feedback and education applicable across specialties in the delivery of high-quality care to older adults and fulfilling Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements for Lifelong Learning and Self-Assessment (LLSA). The VPCs reflect a collaboration between the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), The John A. Hartford Foundation, and the American Geriatrics Society (AGS).
