This webinar focused on the intersection of Implementation Science, Health Care transformation; and Federal Funding for research from NIH, PCORI, and CMMI. Drs. Naik and Boustani spoke about their experiences, as both have undergone the process of negotiating with their respective institutions to define and secure salary support for leadership roles in the areas of quality improvement. Dr. Coleman served as the moderator and provided a broader national context for the pearls and pitfalls of academic researchers making this type of career change.

This program was developed by the panel members and funded by the Hartford Geriatrics Health Outcomes Research Program, which was generously supported by a grant from the John A. Hartford Foundation, Inc.

This webinar was originally developed for the participants of the Hartford Geriatrics Health Outcomes Research Scholars Program, which supported physician scientists during the critical transition from junior faculty to independent researcher. The program may also be helpful to others who are at the same phase of their careers.
